Innovation Laboratory

The Innovation Laboratory conducts research on the design, development, and implementation of innovations in public, social, and business organisations, with particular emphasis on the role and importance of management in these processes (including the adaptation of structures, systems, processes, methods, and management models as well as organisational abilities to the growing dynamics of development of innovations, including digital innovations).

Particular weight is placed on the development of new methods of researching the processes of generating innovations, which by their nature concern what has not happened yet, and may happen in the future (including the affordances of innovations being developed), which requires research methods in line with the approach of Herbert Simon who included management in the sciences of the artificial. The Laboratory is also interested in the methods and processes of digital innovations and digital innovations’ development (such as digital laboratories and platforms enabling the inclusion in the innovation development processes of collective intelligence of social networks capable of mobilising the knowledge and competences of many partners, including experts and users).

An important area of interest is the search for answers to the question of how innovations can be a response to the public, social, and economic issues of the contemporary world.

The Laboratory’s employees also conduct teaching and implementation activities aimed at disseminating the research results.
