About the event
The event is focused on Action Research in higher education. We will especially focus on Action Research as a tool for liberating education from neoliberal demands. The neoliberal university showcases corporate hegemony, in which education becomes frequently a neoliberal technology where ‘results are prioritised over processes, numbers over experiences, procedures over ideas, productivity over creativity’ (Ball, 2003; Ball, Olmedo, 2013). However, as critical pedagogues observe, the university’s cultural mission is based on the “resistance potential” of education (McLaren, 2002; Giroux, 2010, Zawadzki et al, 2019). Thus, during the study day we want to focus on examples of action research in higher education that allow us to create an emancipatory space for liberating education from the neoliberal agenda.

Booking and Cost
Booking will start on 1st February 2020. Cost of participation is 100 EUR and it covers lunch, study day dinner and a visit of the Jagiellonian University’s museum and a welcome drink on Friday, 22nd May.
