About us

The JU Institute of Public Affairs was established at the Faculty of Management and Social Communication under the JU Senate resolution of 25 June 1997, with the aim of educating public sector managers, conducting research into public affairs, documenting changes in this area, analyzing methods of public administration management and their optimization, especially in such sectors as: culture, housing, spatial management, education, security, and cooperation between different public services in solving social problems and local development management.

The preparation and implementation of educational and research projects of the Institute is conducted in cooperation with municipal, regional, and central authorities as well as with NGOs that support the modernization of the public sector.

The JU Institute of Public Affairs runs first- and second-cycle programmes of study in the field of management, speciality: public sector management and non-degree post-diploma study programmes: EU projects and funds management, education management, and security and public order institutions management. Altogether, about 900 students have been studying here in the academic year 2011/2012.
